Matthew has patent litigation, domestic and foreign prosecution and opinion experience involving a variety of technologies including software, artificial intelligence and machine learning, gaming devices, renal devices, medical diagnostic and monitoring systems, surgical devices, infusion pumps, hospital and EMR software and networks, renal treatment software, air treatment devices, automotive diagnostic systems, liquid crystal display technology, pharmacy workstations, signal processing, physiological sensors, consumer electronics, power systems, electrical hardware, robotics, cooking devices, wind turbines, membranes, advanced materials, beverage machines, mattress technology, household appliances, industrial painting systems, oil and gas related technology, toys, footwear, sportswear, fashion accessories and sporting goods, design patents, business methods and a variety of other mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical devices. Matthew's prosecution experience includes handling of appeals, U.S. ex parte reexaminations, inter partes review proceedings and assisting foreign counsel with European oppositions.

Matthew has successfully argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board. In addition, Matthew has participated in successful proceedings before the European Opposition Division and works closely with colleagues in our EPO, and Australian practices implementing a global IP strategy for our clients.
